Cambridge Fencers installs new fencing across Histon, where a busy village close to Cambridge's northern suburbs brings together Victorian terraces, interwar housing, and modern infill developments all needing solid, well-finished boundary work.
Histon and its neighbour Impington form a well-established community just off the B1049, popular with Cambridge commuters. The range of property types here is wide - tight Victorian plots near the old core, 1930s semis with longer rear gardens, and newer builds on the edges of the village where boundary fencing is often minimal or absent from day one.
We work regularly in and around Histon and understand the typical boundary layouts here. Close board fencing at 1.8m is the most common request for rear gardens where privacy from neighbouring properties matters. All posts are concreted in, and we use treated softwood throughout. Ask us about gravel boards too - they protect the base of the fence panels and add years to the life of the installation.
